January 15, 2012 - 2011 MWSS Annual Banquet
The last event of the 2011 Midwest Sprint Series, the annual Champions awards banquet was held Saturday, January 14. Joel Jens was awarded the
Champions trophy in all four of his classes that he competed in all year. Claiming titles in Yamaha Junior Light and Heavy as well as Komet Junior
Light and Heavy, gave Jens the prestigious and seldom obtained Quadruple Crown. Jens’ father attended the awards ceremony on the drivers’
behalf as he was out of state racing in Florida at the time. When asked Jens said” I really wanted to be able to attend the event but an
opportunity to race in Florida came up and I could not pass it up. I want to thank all the officials and officers of the MWSS and all the racers in
the series for making it such a fun and enjoyable time last year”
Joel’s father accepted the awards on his behalf and went on to
thank the series and its sponsors and all of the supporters to Joel Jens Racing. Joel Jens Racing would once again like to thank its sponsors and
supporters: Stock’s Harley Davidson, Bank First National, Green Stone Farm Credit Service, TA Motorsports, WOMT Radio, Verde Speed Resources,
Switch Racing Engines, L&T Clutches, GO Designs, Tony/Kart and all friends and family. A special thank you goes out to Brian Roskopf of
Roskopf’s RV for keeping the team’s transporter up and running all year.
These 4 divisional titles along with the 3 National
titles make Joel Jens the most successful junior driver in the country for the 2011 season. After being named the Most Improved Junior Driver for the
past season, earlier in the year, and Driver of the Month in May Jens has certainly lived up to his accomplishments and accolades.
Joel is
taking some time off to enjoy the winter month’s activities and concentrate on school before the hectic spring and summer events arrive. Next up
for Joel Jens racing will be testing for future events on the WKA Manufacturer’s Cup Series and the SKUSA Pro Tour located on the West
Coast.
