April 5, 2010 - 2010 Florida Winter Tour Review
Joel Jens and team finish strong in Ocala to wrap up the 2010 Florida Winter Tour. After a tough outing at Orlando and Palm Beach, Joel Jens came to
Ocala looking for better results.
The first weekend at Ocala was the Rotax weekend where Joel was able to qualify for the Final for the first
time all season.
The second weekend at Ocala brought even better results. As Saturday Joel was able to put his Merlin kart on the pole in
qualifying for the IAME Jr. class. The Pre-Final saw Joel fall back to second at the start, only to catch and pass the leader halfway through the
race. Joel was able to hold on for the Pre-Final win. In the Final, Joel was able to finish 2nd, his best result in the competitive Florida Winter
Tour.
With a new day on Sunday, Joel and his team were looking to repeat their performance of the day before, but mother nature would shower
them with rain all day. The young driver was able to make a great run in the Final to bring home a second Top-5 on the weekend in 5th
place.
Joel new gears up for the start of the WSK North America championship presented by CKI in New Castle, In on April 9-11.
